Men’s Mental Health walking challenge

At the request of Councillors Jackie Taylor and Luke Cotterill, a Men’s Mental Health Walk is being planned across Sandwell. This initiative will integrate community park walks in each town, encouraging local participation while promoting key services that support mental health, with a specific focus on men’s wellbeing.

The event will be held in alignment with Men’s Mental Health Week, which begins on 9th June 2025, with scheduled activities taking place on 13th, 14th, and 15th June 2025.

The initiative will consist of two key components:

A designated walking route (road-based) exclusively for councillors and invited guests, which will not be accessible to the public.

Community-led 5K/1 hour park walks in each of Sandwell’s towns, open to residents. These walks will serve as an opportunity to engage with local mental health services, raise awareness of men’s mental health issues, and promote the support networks available.
