SCHOOL CLOSED
MONDAY 2ND DECEMBER
Don't forget that school is closed on Monday.
We look forward to seeing all pupils back in school on Tuesday 3rd December.

Thank you for your support!
A big thank you to families and staff who raised an incredible £354.58 for Children in Need.
Reception visit by the PCSOs
The children in Reception recently had a visit from PCSOs Mark and Linda. The children were very interested in asking them questions about their job and trying on their uniform. The best part was sitting in the police van and hearing the three different sirens!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION & REMINDERS

Parking
Do not stop your car on the zig zag lines in Addenbrooke Road or Thompson Road and do not park on the corner of these roads.
This is very dangerous for other drivers and parents/children walking and crossing roads.

Bringing children to school
It is your responsibility as parents to ensure that your child gets into school safely. Please do not drop off children and leave them. Please come into the playground and stay with them until they have gone into building.

If your child is late, you must bring them into Reception and wait with them until they have been signed in by a Receptionist.
CHILDREN MUST NOT BE LEFT TO COME INTO SCHOOL ALONE.

Book your child's school dinners every day - it is not the teacher's job
Too many children are arriving at school every day without a dinner being booked. Even if your child is eligible for free school meals, it is your responsibility to choose what they eat (both main course and dessert).
If there is a genuine reason why you are unable to book the dinner, please speak to the school office and ask them to help.

New Catering provider January 2025
We are pleased to inform you that from January 2025, we will have a new school meal provider. You will receive an introductory letter with links and information about where to start looking at the menus and app. Over the next few weeks, we will send out more information via the School Gateway app (make sure you have the app logged in and push notifications set to automatically send messages).
wonde vouchers for families eligible for free school meals
Food vouchers will be sent to families with children who are eligible for free school meals. You should receive an email in the last week of term from Wonde (check your spam folders).

Lost property
Once again, we are reminding you to put your child's full name in all items of clothing, shoes, coats, hats, scarves and gloves that your child wears to school. Their full name also needs to be on lunch boxes, lunchbags, PE kits, pumps and bags, Forest School clothes and wellies .... the list is endless.
It is your responsibility to do this so that we can return lost items to your child. We are not responsible if items get lost.
Come on families, it takes a few minutes and saves you lots of money in the long run!

We have lots of videos to support your child's learning of phonics. Click https://uplandsmanor.sch.life/Page/Detail/phonics or go to the website and click on 'Provision' to find the relevant videos. Sit and watch them with your child and ask them to show you what they have been learning in school.

Snow days and road gritting
A number of families have commented about the roads around school not being gritted when there is ice or snow. Unfortunately, local authorities only grit roads that are on a bus route.
If you feel strongly that other roads need to be gritted, feel free to contact your local Councillor or MP.
SCHOOL ATTENDANCE
Make attendance your business!
Uplands Manor Primary recognises that good attendance is essential in order for pupils to get the most of their school experience, including their attainment, wellbeing and wider life chances. It is extremely important that children are brought to school every day and to be on time.
Our school attendance target is 96%
Our current attendance is 94.1%
