Parent Governor vacancy

We have a vacancy for a Parent Governor.  All parents were sent the information by email last week.  Please speak to Mr Dickinson, Miss Copestake or Miss James in the playground if you would like to know more about the role of a Parent Governor.  A nomination pack can be collected from the school office if you don't have access to a printer.  Completed nomination forms can be returned by email to headteacher@uplandsmanor.sandwell.sch.uk or on paper to the school office, marked for the attention of the Headteacher.

The closing date for nominations is Friday 7th May.

Behaviour before and after school in the local area

We have received complaints from neighbours around school about children running onto gardens and damaging property.  Please make sure that children are behaving appropriately and being considerate to local residents.

   

Cold weather clothing

Please remember to send your child into school with a cardigan or jumper and a coat.  Please make sure they have your child's full name and class written inside so they don't get lost.

    

Is your child entitled to Free School Meals?

If you receive any of the following financial support, your child may be entitled to free school meals.  Click on the link below for more details and to complete the application form 

  • income Support
  • Universal Credit - with a household net income of less than £7,400 a year
  • Job Seekers Allowance - Income based only
  • Employment and Support Allowance - Income Related only
  • Pension Credit - Guaranteed Element (including Child Tax Credit)
  • Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • Child Tax Credit only - with an annual income of less than £16,190 (not including Working Tax Credit)
  • Working Tax Credit run-on

  

School Gateway App - the best way to receive communication from Uplands Manor

We send all communication to parents through the School Gateway App.  If you have a smart phone, we encourage you to download the app and set it to receive notifications. 

This will mean that you receive all the important messages and communication from school.

If you need to set up a new account, download the school gateway app on your phone or use the following link online https://login.schoolgateway.com/0/auth/register. You can also reset forgotten passwords from this link if you click on 'existing user'.

    

2 year old Nursery places at Tiny Steps Nursery

Tiny Steps Nursery have places available for children who are 2 years old.  For more information, please contact the school office who will transfer your call.

    

3 and 4 Year Old Nursery places at Uplands Nursery for September 2021

We have places available for children who will be aged 3 years old by 31st August 2021.  For more information and an application form, please contact the school office on 0121 558 1602.

   

   

CELEBRATING ACHIEVEMENT

    

We believe that it is important to celebrate achievements.  Each week, children may be given a gold letter from a member of staff or a certificate from Mr Dickinson, Miss Copestake or Miss James.

If your child has done something special outside school - maybe they have helped someone or done something special.  Tell us so that the Uplands community can share in their celebration. Email headteacher@uplandsmanor.sandwell.sch.uk 

   

Headteacher & Deputy Headteacher Awards

Some children are sent to the Headteacher or Deputy Headteacher for a special award.  Congratulations to:

  • Giovanni T for being a class superstar. He always tries his best and makes me smile every day
  • Holly P for her fantastic attitude in school and working hard with her learning every day
  • Elaine G for working hard to improve in maths
  • Arandeep M for being so thoughtful and caring to others
  • Angela E for being a fabulous friend to people in the classroom and some really impressive maths work this week. She's been a star!
  • Isma'il S for not settling with his first attempts in English and looking for ways to enhance or improve his writing
  • Inaayah I for her amazing attitude to learning and progress in our maths
  • I'Ziah G for his positive attitude to learning and continuing resilience in maths work

Support Pavnoor to raise money for Bowel Cancer UK

One of our pupils, Pavnoor, very sadly lost her aunty to bowel cancer in January.  Her family are taking on 34 challenges to commemorate the 34 years of her life.

On 23rd April, Pavnoor will be helping her family raise money for Bowel Cancer UK by taking part in a sponsored haircut - she will have 34cm of her hair cut off!
