Dear Parents and Carers

Important safeguarding reminder
Please make sure that you supervise your children at all times, especially after school.
The playground is very busy and it is your responsibility to ensure you keep your child with you after they have been released by the teacher.

If you have forms or letters to hand in, please use the post box in the foyer of main Reception. You do not need to give them to the Receptionists.
Please make sure that they are labelled with the name of the staff member they need to be given to.
CELEBRATION!
What a win!

Our fantastic football team won their first game against Moat Farm 3 goals to 1 with fantastic goals from Remy and Harsimrat. Congratulations!
Yesterday, the children played another exciting game, resulting in 7 goals to 4 against Eaton Valley, with Jenovie scoring a hat trick in the second half.

SCHOOL ATTENDANCE
Make attendance your business!
Uplands Manor Primary recognises that good attendance is essential in order for pupils to get the most of their school experience, including their attainment, wellbeing and wider life chances. It is extremely important that children are brought to school every day and to be on time.
Our school attendance target is 96%
Our current attendance is 94.1%
A BIG Thank you from our Attendance Team to all those families who have brought their children to school on time every day and who have attended daily since September.

Unauthorised absence from school - new statutory school attendance information
Please read the new government guidance on unauthorised absences and penalty notices.
If your child has 5 days of unauthorised absence or 10 sessions (a day is equivalent to 2 sessions – a morning session and an afternoon session) in a 10-week period, then you could be at risk of receiving an £80 penalty notice per parent per child.
If your child, then goes on to have another 5 days or 10 sessions of unauthorised absence in 3 years then another penalty notice could be issued of £160 per parent per child.
If your child, then has a third period of 5 days unauthorised absence or 10 sessions in the 3 years then parents could be prosecuted.
What to read if you already like ....
Does your child love Julia Donaldson, Roald Dhal or David Walliams?
If your child has a favourite author they like to read repeatedly, it can be difficult to find books or authors for them to read next. It is important that children have opportunities to read a wide range of authors, but finding the right ones can be difficult.
Have a look at this article, which may help you and your child find their next favourite author. Remember, many of these authors are available for your child to borrow from our school library.
Happy reading!
IMPORTANT INFORMATION

If your child rides their bike to school and want to lock it in the bike shed, please see Mrs Keen on the playground for the code. You will need to bring your own bike lock to lock it to the barrier.
