SCHOOL NEWS

Eco School Council

The eco school council took part in a litter-picking activity around the school grounds. The children went around collecting rubbish, ensuring the school environment remained clean and tidy. They enjoyed the task and were proud to contribute to a greener, more sustainable school. This will continue throughout the year, as the council works to promote a clean and eco-friendly atmosphere for everyone at the school.

Year 3 Ancient Egyptian Day

Ancient Egyptian Day - we went back in time 6,000 years to 3,500BC to learn about how the Ancient Egyptians lived, games they played, the alphabet they used as well as how they treated their dead. We solved word puzzles using hieroglyphics, played a game similar to snakes and ladders and found out lots of information about Ancient Egypt. We then learnt about how the Ancient Egyptians treated their dead, the organs they stored in canopic jars and how they mummified the bodies. Finally, we learnt about the downfall of Ancient Egypt, Cleopatra and Mark Antony.

We would like to say a big thank you to all of our parents who joined us on Reception walks in the bitter cold weather last week!  The children really enjoyed the experience and learned lots about houses and, more importantly, were able to practice crossing the road safely!
