World Day for Cultural Diversity

On Friday 27th May we will be celebrating World Day for Cultural Diversity.

This will be an exciting day where children will get the opportunity to immerse themselves into cultures from around the world by learning about their music, food and traditions!

This will be a non-uniform day and children can come to school in an outfit that represents their own culture. If not, they can come to school in an outfit that is special to them or an outfit they wore for a celebration.

We look forward to an exciting day!

Mrs Hussain

Summer Reading Challenge

Well done to all the children that earned a reading token last term; it was lovely to see so many children enjoying reading across the school🙂 Please see the KS1 and KS2 Reading Challenges for the summer term ahead. We will hopefully have a new vending machine up and running by May half term for the children to use. Thank you for your continued support with this. Sandwell Shine a Light

In the build up to and during the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, Sandwell Council is running an engaging and inclusive programme of cultural events across the Borough.

Shine a Light Festivals will take place across each of Sandwell’s six towns and aim to showcase Sandwell’s rich, diverse culture and showcase the best of arts, sport and culture from all ages, background and parts of the community.

We will be holding a celebration event across the weekend days at Lightwoods Park, 10am-4pm, and an evening extravaganza at Victoria Park, 4pm-9pm.

There are several ways to do this, such as performing on one of our stages or performance areas at our evening event or displaying artwork during the day. We would welcome input from already established groups such as drama clubs or choirs, or even individual students. For further information on the Shine a Light Festival’s you can visit: www.shinealightfestival.co.uk
