CELEBRATION
Congratulations to the children who have received a Headteacher or Deputy Headteacher award this week. They are:
- Lovepreet K for gaining confidence in her maths abilities and calculating accurately using BODMAS
- Connor M for being so enthusiastic towards learning and producing a fantastic homework project about the Titanic.
- Mikaeel A for excellent independent work about the Titanic
- Alayah M for her positive attitude towards her learning
- Jayden H for his positive approach to learning this week - he has worked really hard with BODMAS and with his creative writing
It's Good to be Green but it's Great to be Gold!
We believe that it is important to celebrate achievements. Each week, children may be given a gold letter from a member of staff or a certificate from Mr Dickinson, Miss Copestake or Miss James.
If your child has done something special outside school - maybe they have helped someone or done something special. Tell us so that the Uplands community can share in their celebration. Email headteacher@uplandsmanor.sandwell.sch.uk
Pupils who show exceptional behaviour for the majority of the week can be chosen to receive a gold letter. Gold letters have been given to:
- Ephraim A for being so kind and thoughtful to others. He is such a good friend!
- Layton L for trying his best to follow the class rules
- Faizaan A for his excellent concentration in class
- Alishbah A for working hard on her presentation
Wonderful Writing
It has been a pleasure to have a look at writing books across the school over the past few weeks. We are extremely proud of the fantastic writing that is being produced by our children in their lessons from informative instructions to vibrant setting descriptions, powerful poetry and nail-biting news reports - we've seen it all. We can't wait to see more wonderful pieces of writing over the coming months.
Well done Uplands Manor. Keep up the great work 🙂

Reading Awards
Congratulations to Amar H for completing the reading KS2 challenge
Take a look at our fantastic new book vending machine. The vending machine is full of lovely books that the children can choose in exchange for a token.
The children can earn the tokens 2 ways:
Children in Year 1 - 6
- Each term they should complete all of the reading challenges on the grids attached and read at home every day. They could put this in their homework books or send pictures across on Twitter.
- Doing something exceptional in school e.g. a fantastic piece of work, persevering in a task etc.
Children in Nursery or Reception
- Children in Nursery and Reception can earn a token if they are trying exceptionally hard with early reading or making great progress.
ATTENDANCE
The national target for attendance in school is 96%.

- 1S - 100%
- 2J - 95.8
