Newsletter 13th December 2019

Dear Parents and Carers

The website, Twitter and Facebook are the best way of keeping up to date with school news and dates. Remember to check regularly for upcoming events and pass the information on to other parents that you know.

Parent conduct and behaviour

We understand that, at times, you may be unhappy with something that has happened in school which involves your child, and we are more than happy to help you.  However, the way that some parents have spoken to members of staff or other parents is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

If you have a concern about your child, please speak to the Class Teacher first then the Year Leader .  If you don't feel that this has resolved your concern, please contact Mrs Yeomans, the Headteacher's PA, via the school office or email headteacher@uplandsmanor.sandwell.sch.uk

Please also remember that the Receptionists are available to take messages but will not know what has happened.  Please just give them your name and number, the name and class of your child and a very brief description of your concern (e.g. behaviour incident/school dinners/learning).

Late children: 165 children have been late 292 times.  This is extremely concerning.  Unless there is an emergency, children should arrive at school to start lessons at 8.50am.  Letters and texts have gone out this week about punctuality.

Parent Governor Vacancy

We have a vacancy for a Parent Governor at Uplands Manor.  If you would like to know more, please pick up a nomination pack from School Reception.

Reminder: School uniform and shoes

We have shared our uniform expectations clearly at the start of the year and the policy can be found on the school website.  Please remember that children must wear the correct school uniform and shoes.  If children wear boots on the journey to school, they need to bring black school shoes or plain black trainers to change into.
