Dear Parents and Carers
IMPORTANT COVID REMINDER
You must follow the NHS guidance about Covid. Adults and children must self-isolate (stay at home and not leave the house) if:
- you have any symptoms of coronavirus (a high temperature, a new, continuous cough or a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste)
- you've tested positive for coronavirus - this means you have coronavirus
- you live with someone who has symptoms or tested positive
- someone in your support bubble has symptoms or tested positive
- you're told to self-isolate by NHS Test and Trace or the NHS COVID-19 app

Anti-bullying
Anti -Bullying fortnight starts on Monday 16th November. To mark this and to celebrate the fact that we are all different and all special, we would like the children to wear their odd socks into school on Monday 16th November.
The wackier the better!
Headteacher & Deputy Headteacher Awards
Some children are sent to the Headteacher or Deputy Headteacher for a special award. This week, they were given to:
- Jayden S for great behaviour
- Dennis B for great behaviour
It's Good to be Green but it's Great to be Gold!
Pupils who show exceptional behaviour for the majority of the week can be chosen to receive a gold letter. Gold letters have been given to:
- Harmol S for being extremely helpful, kind and determined to challenge himself to improve his work
- Freya for being a great role model for the class, always on task and a positive attitude to learning
This week at Uplands Manor we have been learning about Diwali. Children have been learning about the story of Rama and Sita and creating traditional decorations for the festival.
Diwali is on Saturday 14th November. Happy Diwali to all those celebrating the festival this weekend!
Remember to stay safe when celebrating the Festival of Light – especially when lighting candles and fireworks.
Thank you for your Children in Need 2020 donations. If you still want to donate, please go to the School Gatewway app.

If your child is entitled to free school meals and is isolating due to COVID19 and are entitled to free school meals then they can book a packed lunch by calling the office before 9:30am on the day required. Collection times and locations will be communicated by text after booking to accommodate demand and in keeping with social distancing.
SCHOOL DINNER DEBTS
There is currently a total debt in excess of £2,000. School cannot afford to pay for this as it then impacts on the resources available for all pupils. You wouldn't turn up to a shop or a restaurant and have a meal but not pay for it - the same applies to school. It is unfair that some parents are expecting school to cover these costs. If you cannot pay for school dinners and are not entitled to free school meals then you should send sandwiches in instead.
Weekly statements are sent out to parents and we always do our best to support families in difficulty - but you must communicate and work with us. Please contact Sarah Clarke in the school office to arrange payment terms if you are experiencing any difficulties. Any parents with an outstanding debt must provide a packed lunch for their child until the debt is paid unless payment terms are agreed. Thank you for your understanding and support with this.
Do you need to speak to our Parent Support Worker
